Budget vs. Luxury Travel in China: What to Expect
When I first decided to visit China, I was not actually sure what I should expect in terms of the costs. Would it be a bank breaker, or could I pull it off on a shoestring budget?
The short answer is: both are possible. China is one of those few places where you can spend a night in a backpacker hostel and then eat in a luxury sky bar the next day, and both of them will feel just as luxurious.
After a few weeks of travelling around the country I got a rather good idea on how both ends of the spectrum operate.
