Do you have the urge to go higher and test your endurance? Take a 6091m detour off the beaten track to a pyramid-shaped peak north of Pisang and Annapurna II on the Annapurna Circuit trail.

Pisang Peak, also known as Jong Ri, is on the northern border in the Manang Valley in Manang District in the north of Nepal. From here Tilicho Peak (7134m), Mt. Manaslu (8163m), Mt. Annapurna II (7555m) and Mt. Annapurna IV (7525m) and Gangapurna (7455m) are visibly breathtaking. This is truly an eye-popping smorgasbord of white snow-capped peaks right before your eyes!

The trek begins at the predominantly Gurung village of Syange, situated alongside the Marsyangdi River and a deafening waterfall. The trail passes through Dharapani (1860m), Chame (2715m), Upper Pisang (3700m), to Pisang Peak Base Camp (4380), Pisang Peak High Camp (5400), to the Summit of Pisang Peak (6091m), Manang Valley (3450), Yak Kharka (4110m), Thorong Pedi (4,600m), Muktinath (3800m), Jomsom (2800m), Thorong Pedi (4600m), Thorong La Pass ( 5416m), Muktinath (3800m) and then down to Jomsom (2800m) and a flight to Pokhara followed the next day with a road trip to Kathmandu.

This is a trek offering immense natural beauty with unique fauna and an opportunity to discover the various ethnic groups living in this remote region. The highlight, of course, is climbing to Pisang Peak (6091m) and trekking through Thorong La Pass (5416m). There will be stops along the trail where you will have the opportunity to acclimatize before ascending Pisang Peak and Thorong La Pass.
